Australia is burning and many in our communities are suffering. Here are some small but significant ways you can help them.
We're back and open for business in 2020 but it is impossible to go on ‘business as usual’ without acknowledging our beautiful country’s bush fire crisis.
So many of our communities are deeply, horrifically affected and to them we say we stand beside you. We are ready to offer support and help in any way we can.
To others, like us, wishing there was something meaningful you could do to help, we suggest you consider donating to one of the many organisations out there who can directly aid the people, communities and wildlife that need it now and in the months to follow. It doesn’t matter how little you can contribute – even the smallest contribution can help.
Here are some ways to help the victims of Australia’s bush fires:
The Australian Red Cross has joined with the ABC to support the communities affected by fires. You can donate here.
The St Vincent De Paul Society is also running a bushfire appeal, to help those affected rebuild their lives with food, clothing, furniture, other essentials, and funds to pay bills. You can donate at any Vinnies store or donate online.
The Salvation Army’s disaster appeal has been set up to support the communities affected by the bushfires. To donate, you can call 13 SALVOS (13 72 58), donate at any Woolworths checkout, or donate online .
To help the NSW wildlife victims, you can donate to the NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service (WIRES) here.
